Hair by Gaia Hair and Make Up Artistry
Thursday, April 23, 2015
This week I got to visit my cute friend Cassandra to freshen up my highlights. While she round brushed my hair, I decided to film the whole process. It takes forever and it's so much work! But it's fun to watch the whole video sped up, and I absolutely love how it turned out! Make sure and check out Gaia hair and make up artistry in Draper!
Catch a Wave!
Thursday, March 26, 2015
I have SUPER naturally wavy hair and every once in a while I like to embrace the waves and let my hair go crazy! (And by crazy I mean get as much volume and wave as possible). Here are a few tips for getting the most out of your natural wave!
Tips for voluminous natural waves
*Flip hair on each side of your head and upside down while blow drying
*Lift up roots with your opposite hand while blow drying near your part
*Use shine serum with your favorite curling product to eliminate frizz
*Continually curl the ends of your hair with your hand or "scrunch" while blow drying
I made a little video tutorial below if you want to see how I created these waves.
P.s. Don't forget to dance to "I whip my hair" by Willow Smith afterward just for fun ;)
Just for Fun Friday--Wedding Edition!
Friday, January 30, 2015
Why is it so fun to get dressed up? I really wish I had an excuse every week to put on a pretty dress. My writer's group decided to all dress up in wedding gowns and that was the inspiration behind this post. I thought if I was going to wear the white dress, I might as well do wedding hair and makeup!
I love braids with loose curls, and these ringlets are really easy. You can find out how to do them here.
It was kind of fun. I explained the look a little more in the video below. Now...to think of my next excuse to dress up...

Lovely and long. My favorite loose ringlets.
Wednesday, December 10, 2014
These loose ringlets are my favorittttttte. I love them because I can let my hair air-dry and then just go over the top. After adding in shine serum, I brush through the ringlets and let them blend together with my natural waves underneath! Theses ringlets also create the illusion that your hair is longer than it looks. You can watch the tutorial below to see how easy it is! Also, sometimes I have a hard time keeping a straight face for pictures, but I'm getting better at it.
Reverse Front Braid
Tuesday, October 21, 2014
GUYS, this is my first hair tutorial, so please, be easy on me! I wanted to share this reverse front braid because it's my go-to hair style (sometimes I call it the "Elsa hair braid"). You can do it easily on straight hair, curly hair, wet hair, or pretty much any hair type. It's versatile, it's great to get hair out of your face, and I love how it looks. Try it out and let me know what you think. Enjoy!
