EVERY DISNEY PRINCESS AT DISNEYLAND (2018)

We went to Disneyland 30 times in 2 months, and these are all the princesses we saw! Elsa, Anna, Ariel, Snow White, Cinderella, Jasmine, Rapunzel, Belle, Tiana, Moana, Pocahantas, and Tinkerbell. I've included both Moana and Tinkerbell as princesses on this list. I was always on the lookout for princess meet and greets over the 30 times that we went in 2 months. If you don't see a princess on this video, they were either not at Disneyland or rarely did meet and greets (parades instead).  But we feel lucky that we got to have so many amazing experiences with all the Disney princesses we did see! Kenzie and Sienna loved meeting the princesses and we got so many adorable pictures!

Crazy Storm at Disneyland!

So much RAIN at Disneyland! This was the craziest storm I've ever seen at the parks! Our Small World boat was flooded and our feet were completely submerged in water for the ride! The Christmas Fantasy parade was changed so that the all of the characters were in main street vehicles, instead of dancing or riding on floats. And there were extra characters we got to meet due to the storm. It was  a cold, wet day, but we still had so much fun! Definitely a day to remember! 

Other interesting things we experienced because of the storm: 

Lots of closed rides

Extra princesses at the princess meet and greets (because they weren't a part of the parade, at least I think that's why!)

A DAY IN DISNEYLAND (2018)

We had such a fun time at Disneyland! Kenzie and Sienna got to meet Mickey, then we got to see Cinderella's castle all ready for Christmas. Kenzie was wearing her Cinderella dress, and then she went on Big Thunder Mountain for the first time ever! She was nervous, but did great and had a lot of fun! The sunset in Disneyland was really beautiful too. We also got to see some other fun characters out and about at Disneyland. We love a good Disneyland Adventure. Thanks for watching!

MEETING MOANA! | DISNEYLAND (2018)

We met Moana at Disneyland! We loved her outfit and had fun chatting about her Maui. She was in Adventureland near Tarzan's Treehouse. Such a fun experience! I'd recommend asking the cast members with special badges that say "Ask me about Characters" to get more info on character meet and greets at Disneyland.

CHRISTMAS AT DISNEYLAND (2018)

Christmas is here at Disneyland! Sienna and I went to Disneyland park and got to see the new Christmas tree on mainstreet. It is amazing! Disneyland is full of new Christmas decorations and even has Christmas music playing throughout the park. Watch till the end to see all the new decorations!

DISNEYLAND CHARACTERS AND COSTUMES! (2018)

We had am awesome family day at Disneyland! Kenzie met Aladdin, Jasmine, Belle, and Minnie! I also got to see the fairy godmother by Snow White’s wishing well. There was so much Halloween decor and we haf a lot of fun riding rides!

COCO Celebration at California Adventure!

Coco Celebration and facing my biggest fear! (California Adventure)

California Adventure is celebrating Coco for Day of The Dead, and it is incredible! We had so much fun visiting Pixar Pier and seeing what they have out for Coco and Dia de Muertos.

They had a Miguel puppet that walked and played the guitar. There were Spanish dancers and singers who were amazingly talented and did such a great job! They even had alebrijes you could decorate, Marigolds, and beautiful artwork from the movie.

One of my favorite things was seeing the guitar that Ernesto de la Cruz plays. This Coco Celebration is definitely worth a visit!

We also walked around Pixar Pier and went on one of the scariest rides. Watch till the end to see what happened!

BEST TREAT AT DISNEYLAND!

We found the best treat at Disneyland! And it was only $5.00 on mainstreet. Both Kenzie and Sienna both loved it, and I thought it was amazing too! Watch till the end to see what it is.

We also got to meet Disney Princesses! We met Ariel, Cinderella, and Snow White. The line was a little long, but the girls loved meeting them.

We also spent time in Toontown and ended the day in California Adventure on Monsters Inc. It was a good day!

I had so much documenting our Disneyland experience with the kids and we're excited to keep sharing our Disneyland adventures!

Quiet Time for Toddlers

When my toddler dropped her nap time I was really nervous. I knew I needed to come up with something to help keep the house quiet during my baby's nap time, and I need to keep my sanity! 

Quiet time has been such a blessing for us! It definitely takes practice to get into the routine of daily quiet time, but just starting is the best way to get into the habit. 

In this video you'll find my best ideas that I've seen work for us and help us to have a successful quiet time!

Halloween at Gardner Village!

We went to Gardner Village and it was so much fun! 

We had such a fun time at Gardner Village! Kenzie, Sienna, and I went with kenzie's cousins, and we found so many witches! There are tons of Halloween displays with giant pumpkins, and so many witches! Witches that move, dance, fly, and even a witch on a boat fishing! I've always loved coming to Gardner Village during Halloween time, but this was especially fun bringing Kenzie! 

Kenzie loved taking pictures and seeing all the witches, getting her face painted with a spooky spider web (and glitter!), and of course stopping by the treat shop with plenty of spooky Halloween treats! Sienna loved wearing her tiny little witch hat and playing with her cousins. 

If you haven't been to Gardner Village during Halloween time, YOU NEED TO GO! It is such a fun experience. They also have really fun places to eat and plenty of fun picture opportunities. 

They even have what's called Witchpalooza and Witch Fest! You can come dressed up as a witch and play games, eat yummy food, shop, and just have a great time. 

This is something I want to do every year! A new Halloween tradition for us!

How to throw an awesome party and stay stress free!

It's no secret, I love planning parties and events. I remember when my published my first novel, my publisher asked me to throw a launch party event.

The thought of throwing a big event terrified me! I realized I needed to figure out party planning details asap.

Fast forward a few years and 2 book launch parties and several blogger parties later, I have come to absolutely love throwing events! Whether It's a large event like a book launch, or even small family parties, you can have a great time and stay stress free with these easy tips.

1. Choose a Theme.


This seems obvious enough, but it's something that can get out of hand quickly if you don't reign it in! My favorite apps to use to help me brainstorm and pick great themes are Pinterest, A Joyful Riot, and Kara's Party Ideas. All of these sites are full of incredible themed parties and ideas that will leave you in awe. And remember to put your own special touch to it. That's what makes your event memorable!

My first book launch party was themed after my book cover, so I used red and black and tried to make everything sleek. Book launch number two was mermaid/siren themed and I used blues, greens, and pearl tones. And my daughter's first birthday party was a pink and gold glitter explosion.

Deciding on two or three colors is a great place to start for a theme!

2. Start planning way ahead of time. 

It's another tip that might sound obvious, but somehow party preparation has a sneaky little way of taking just a few too many hours than you had planned.

Make sure you've worked out food/catering, event location, and decor weeks before your event. It will keep you calm and collected on the day of your special event.

3. Use apps to take the stress out event planning. 

Eventbrite is a great site that lets you create an event, get the word out, and even let's attendees pay online for your event ahead of time. It's an easy way to stay organized and stress free while party planning. As for online shopping, Amazon Prime and Etsy are my favorite party supply sites and so much better than running from store to store the day before.


4. Enjoy the time! 

When you're in charge of a major event it's so hard to actually enjoy the moment. However if you start early enough and make a clear plan, you'll have so much for fun and be able to relax at your event.

Summer 2016 Updates

Oh my goodness, it's been a while! 

I'm sorry for the overdue update, but we've been keeping busy! Here's a little rundown of what's been going on in our family for the past few months :)

December: I launched my tee shirt company, Happily Hezface Tees! It's been a huge learning experience, and I'm still figuring out how to run a small business, but there's something I love about creating these fun shirts!

I'm glad I decided to just jump and start this adventure, even though it has been a lot of work! I'm also so grateful for all the support from friends and family. Thank you! <3

You can see what's new with my shop on instagram @HappilyHezface, and let me know if you have any suggestions for designs you'd like to see. So far the favorite has been the purple Best Day Ever Tee. Go Rapunzel!

January: We found out we were expecting baby number two in October!!!! The first trimester was hard. I get really sick and have no energy for weeks, so chasing around a busy, hyper active toddler was near impossible. Thank goodness for all of Kellen's help.

March: Kellen got accepted to Harvard and we went to Boston to check out the area! You can find a little Vlog of our trip here.

April: Kellen graduated from UVU with honors! Woot woot! So so proud of this boy and how incredibly hard he worked to get here. He went to school through summers, over family trips, and had to sacrifice a lot, so we're so happy to get to this point and so excited for him to spend more time with us this summer!

Sooooooooo, we are getting things ready to pack up and move. It's exciting, and scary, and feels like a big new adventure, and I'm hoping that I can handle a toddler and a newborn while in a new state!

We're also finding out the baby's gender this week! I really go back and forth daily on whether it's a boy or a girl. I've had a lot more people say they think it's a boy...so we'll see!

June will be a big month for us, Kellen and I celebrate our SEVEN year anniversary, and Kenzie turns 2! I've been planning her party, so stay tuned for that :)

It's been a little chilly so far, but I know that warm weather is just around the corner! I'm getting my Summer fun check-list all ready.

Summer, here we come!

Summer Highlights

Hey guys! I cannot believe summer is coming to an end. I'm always sad to say goodbye, but also so excited for fall to come. But before we pull out our cozy sweaters and pumpkin cookie recipes (am I right?), I wanted to share our family highlights from summer!

Kellen has been working, going to school, and prepping for law school all summer long, and I've been writing, starting the Happily Hezface online store, and chasing around Kenzie all summer :) Even though it's been crazy busy, we still had a lot of fun summer adventures and so many good memories.

I'm always chasing my family around with the camera, and they're probably sick of it, but it's my way of slowing things down! Kenzie is growing up so fast, and even when I look at the pictures from earlier in summer, she looks so little!

But I'm so happy I did film everything because I got to create this video of our favorite moments from summer, and it makes me so so happy! I think I'm going to try and make this a yearly tradition. I want to a make summer highlight video every year to document this for later.

So here was our summer checklist:
Play at the splash pad
Watch fireworks
Go swimming
Play at the park, a lot
Eat snow cones, ice cream, and watermelon
Go for lots of stroller rides (seriously, hundreds)
Celebrate Kenzie's first birthday
Spend time together as a family (my favorite one)
